Overview
The Red Hat Global Business Delivery (GBD) Business Finance team is looking for a Business Analyst to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will focus primarily on facilitating Finance Planning and Analytics (FP&A) to help leadership guide business decisions. You will interact frequently with key leadership from across the globe; this will provide you with the opportunity to sharpen your quantitative analysis skills and to develop well-rounded business insight through working with senior leadership on impactful and business critical projects. Your success as a Business Analyst will depend on your ability to collaborate with and shape your stakeholders to take action on intelligence and recommendations that you provide in this role.
What you will do
- Develop analyses, KPI metrics, and presentations that will provide insight and direction to sales leadership
- Provide forecast and pipeline analytics that will improve the leadership team’s ability to guide the business and surpass targets
- Effectively collaborate with other business support teams like Operations, Marketing, and Global Finance on deliverables as needed
- Engage with internal partners to understand business strategy, questions, and goals; bring structure to business requests, translate requirements into an analytical project approach, and support projects through completion
- Prepare and deliver visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement
- Provide high quality automation of existing reports and business review decks
- Foster collaboration among data engineers, IT, and other business groups to ensure data is accessible to FP&A team
- Work extended hours during quarter or year-end periods when required, may include weekends
- Develop an understanding of Red Hat’s workflows and a deep understanding of our policies
- Partner with on-shore global and geo stakeholders and teams on deliverables and special projects
- Continuously look for ways to improve productivity or the level of services provided to the business
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, statistics, or other quantitative field; MBA is a plus
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- 2+ years of relevant strategy, finance, analytics, or consulting experience with at least 1+ year(s) of experience with primary focus on reporting and automation
- Solid spreadsheet skills with proven experience in managing large data sets, performing analysis, and building user-friendly models
- Practical experience writing complex VBA macros in Microsoft Excel and data visualization skills
- Experience in programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code
- Experience with analytical tools like Qlikview, Tableau, or any other business intelligence (BI) visualization tools
- Ready to learn new technologies and show attitude towards continuous development
- Ability to work on your own and collaboratively
The following are considered a plus:
- Experience in development of data products using Python or R-Shiny
- Experience with using at least one data mining tool like Business Objects or SAS
- Experience in relational database systems or data warehousing systems like SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
- Basic understanding of and reporting skills in Salesforce.com
- Experience in sales planning, forecasting, performance reviews with a subscription-based or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company
- Passionate about choice in technology, open source, and Red Hat
