The Director of Finance & Business Support at Fairmont Château Lake Louise is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial health and operational support of the property. This position plays a vital role in ensuring profitability, maintaining compliance, and driving business performance. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Executive Team to align financial strategies with the overall business goals, ensuring excellence in service and profitability while upholding Fairmont’s values.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership

• Lead and manage all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve and exceed business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as corporate policies and procedures.
• Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and cost controls to ensure financial health and operational efficiency.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and long-term strategic planning.

Business Support

• Collaborate with department heads to provide financial guidance and improve operational efficiencies.
• Drive initiatives to enhance revenue streams and control costs.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to assess business performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support business development efforts, including feasibility analysis and ROI assessment for new initiatives.

Team Management & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Business Support team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
• Promote cross-departmental collaboration to achieve business goals effectively.

Strategic Collaboration

• Work closely with the General Manager and the Executive Committee to align financial strategies with the property’s objectives.
• Partner with regional and corporate finance teams to ensure alignment with brand-wide initiatives.
• Participate in property-level strategic planning and contribute to the hotel’s long-term success.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA designation preferred).
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a dynamic environment.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Opera, Excel).
• Comprehensive knowledge of local and international financial regulations and standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences.
